Our Team
Kara Stacks M.S., BCBA, LBA, CEO
Hi, my name is Kara Prince Stacks.
A professional in the field of behavior and autism and mother to an awesome kid on the spectrum. I have worked at every level within special education and was an in-home and parent trainer. I was also an after-school detention teacher as well as the in-school suspension teacher where I took the traditional model and began to work with students on their social and emotional needs and established lifelong relationships. I helped establish the first Autism Awareness Rally and Walk and was voted 2018 Autism Teacher of the Year by the Autism Friends Organization. I was featured on the KXII news twice for my work with students on the spectrum in 2017. I was a member of the Team of the Year in my previous district where I taught in SLC (a class for students on the spectrum).
My educational career began as a paraprofessional where I gained a lot of knowledge and passion for special education. Not only did I support students in centralized programs but I also provided inclusion support. My passion for the field continued to grow and so did my need to continue my education. I went back to school and graduated with a Masters of Science in Psychology with a specialization in Applied Behavior Analysis. I continued my educational career and became a district behavior specialist in a large district in the DFW area. I grew to lead the behavior team for that district and embedded myself in all aspects of understanding special education and the law. Although I loved working in leadership at the district level, something was missing in my day to day and that was working 1:1 with kids. I then decided to expand my career and level of knowledge into the clinical sector as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst where I provided early intervention to children on the spectrum. I previously served in the clinical setting as an Executive Clinical Director. and today I serve as the Owner/Founder and BCBA for Prince ABA in Sherman and enjoy working with kids and families on a daily basis.
Throughout my years in education and in the field of Autism, one thing remained the same...my passion! Now my mission is to help others and share my love for the field.

Desiree Adams, President
Desiree Adams is a passionate advocate, autism mom, and founder of The Nate Project—an initiative inspired by her son Nathan, who is nonverbal and on the autism spectrum. After spending over a decade navigating misinformation, long waitlists, and systemic gaps in communication support, Desiree turned her family’s hardest moments into purpose. When Nathan finally received his own AAC device at 15 years old, it changed everything—and Desiree knew no other family should have to wait that long. Through The Nate Project, she works to make AAC devices more accessible, affordable, and life-changing for children who need a voice of their own.
Giving a Voice. Changing a Life.
When my son Nathan was diagnosed with autism, I braced myself for challenges. But nothing prepared me for the silence that followed—the overwhelming confusion, the lack of clear guidance, and the heartbreaking wait to help him communicate.
Nathan is nonverbal. For years, I believed I could be his voice. I tried to interpret every sound, every gesture, every meltdown. But I couldn’t give him what he truly needed—his own voice.
I didn’t even know what AAC was. No one told me. Doctors, therapists, schools—no one explained that there was a way for him to communicate. It took ten long years, countless tears, and a moment of crisis before someone finally listened. At 15, Nathan received an AAC device that was truly his—personalized, permanent, and life-changing.
That moment inspired The Nate Project, a mission to make sure no other child waits a decade to be heard. We exist to make AAC devices accessible, affordable, and empowering for families who are lost in the same silence we once faced.
Every child deserves a voice. And every parent deserves to hear, “I love you.”
